Gary Jarvis joined Fullers in 2007 as an apprentice Carpenter, training under our senior Carpenter, Rob Coles.
Having completed his studies, Gary continued to gain valuable experience working on a varied selection of projects, typically to historic buildings.
With the benefit of gaining a full apprenticeship under our guidance, Gary was keen to develop his skills and to adopt a supervisory role – A situation that we were very keen to support.
Gary has now completed a series of projects for us and he provides the quality, competence and reliability that our clients would expect from a craftsperson that has completed our training program.
Gary notes from his last project:
Generally, this project ran very smoothly with no major problems; although we did incur a few logistical challenges whilst carrying out a full refurbishment in the City of London. Working on a very heavily pedestrianised street, we ensured that all supplier deliveries were to arrive as early as possible. With a ‘Police’ patrol bay in front of the project, we contacted the City of London Police and agreed that on the condition that our staff were loading or unloading, we would be allowed the use of this space.
I was also able to help a member of the public with my First Aid training having witnessed a motorcycle accident immediately outside the project. After hearing a loud crash, I saw a man laying on the floor having being knocked off his bike. Rushing down to him I was able to provide first response assistance. Having provided the rider with initial care, the paramedics arrived on the scene.
